Obituary of John Nagle

John "Jack" Nagle, 84, of Farmingdale passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Capital Health Medical Center, Hopewell. Jack was born in Newark and was a lifelong Farmingdale resident. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving as an EN3 on the USS LST 521 from 1950 to 1954. Jack retired as a mechanical inspector for Bendix/AlliedSignal Corp., Eatontown after 18 years. In retirement, he worked for NAPA Auto Parts, Lakewood. Jack was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Farmingdale and was a founding member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society at the church. He participated with his sons in the Boy Scouts and Indian Guides but most of all he loved spending time with his family and working on the farm. Jack was a beloved husband of 58 years, a loving father, and an adoring "Pop" to his grandchildren, whom he loved. Jack was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Frederick "Fred" and Louise Nagle; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Cecilia Flammia and Anne and Emerson Abbott. His survived by his wife of 58 years, Danella Nagle; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Barbara Nagle of Farmingdale, Mike and Tina Nagle of Farmingdale, and Jeff and Terri Nagle of Estero, FL; seven grandchildren, Kaity, Danny, Tommy, Brandon, Michelle, Amanda and her husband, Brian, and Samantha; a brother-in-law, Paul Flammia, Sr. of Belmar; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, friends, and his beloved dog and friend, Rufus. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 9:00 AM for the procession to St. Catherine of Siena Chapel, 1 North Main Street, Farmingdale for his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass. Interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
