Obituary of Alexander McNerlin
Alexander McNerlin, 67, of Howell passed away at home on Friday, December 27, 2024. He was born in Queens, NY and was a lifelong resident of Howell. Alexander worked at Lilly Tulip in Holmdel prior to working in construction. Over the years Alexander was a carpenter mainly building schools throughout New Jersey. As a young man he was in a band with his father and siblings called “God’s Creation”. Later in life, Alexander played guitar and sang in two bands one called “Rare Form” and one called “Turning Point”, performing in bars and at weddings. He was also a history buff who loved watching the history channel and his favorite show The Curse of Oak Island. Alexander was known for purchasing scratch off tickets and being a MAGA supporter. The most important thing to him was his family.
He was predeceased by his brother, James McNerlin. Alexander is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Angela “Jil” McNerlin; three children, Alexander McNerlin, Jr. and his wife, Pam of Howell, Nicole Ashburn and her wife, Pat of Pennsylvania and Jason McNerlin; nine grandchildren, Alexander III, Tommy, twins Max and Mason, Angelina, Siara, Aariana, Peyton and Jasen; siblings, Peggy Jansen and her husband, Steve, John McNerlin and his wife, Lisa and Michael McNerlin and his wife, Michelle; sister-in-law, Dee McNerlin; many nieces and nephews; and his canine companion, Cody.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 9:00 AM until his 11:00 AM funeral service.
