Obituary of Dudley E. Loveland

Dudley E. Loveland, 97, of Lakewood passed away at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, Lakewood on Monday, December 16th, 2024. He was born in Elizabeth and was raised in Union and lived in Colonia, Scotch Plains before settling in Freehold in 1968 where his growing family was raised eventually retiring to the Fairways in Lakewood 25 years ago. Dudley was a proud veteran who served his country in the United States Marines and was also active in the Civil Air Patrol. He met his wife Theresa while working together at a steel supply company in Newark in the late 1950s. In 1971, Dudley started his own steel fabrication company in North Jersey, which eventually moved to Jackson NJ. His hard work and dedication to the business ensured its success, and to this day, several family members continue to run the company.   He was an avid golfer and a member of the Manasquan River Golf Club, where he enjoyed spending time with friends and competing in tournaments. In his community Fairways in Lakewood, Dudley was known for his generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need. In his free time, Dudley loved playing bocce and bowling with friends, as well as spending quality time with his family. He will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

He is predeceased by his parents, Russell and Gladys Loveland and brother, Russell Loveland. Dudley is survived by his wife, Theresa Loveland of Lakewood; four children, Valerie and her husband, Jeff Rosenberg of Howell; Lorrie Gratton and her husband, Robert of Howell, Gary Loveland and his wife, Patricia DeMarco of Bayville and Randy Loveland and his wife, Sherry Lynn Mackin of Freehold; ten grandchildren, Kimberly Rosenberg Seybert and her husband Joseph, Amanda Gratton Travinski and her husband, Brian, Christopher Loveland and his wife, RyanLee, Kaitlin Rosenberg and her fiancé, Ben Belmont, Kelly Gratton Daly and her husband, Dan, Meghan Loveland Senatore and her husband, Gregory, Steven John Loveland, Kevin James Loveland and his wife, Samantha, Alicia Firman,  Robert Firman and his wife, Meghan. Ten great grandchildren, Parker Loveland, McKinlee Loveland, Luke Travinski, Jackson Daly, Avery Seybert, Brooke Travinski, Kaylee Travinski, Maverick Senatore, Thomas Daly, Wyatt Senatore.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, on Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM Funeral Service on Friday December 20, 2024, at the funeral home.  Burial of cremains will take place at the Brigadier General William C.
