Obituary of James W. Bromell
James W. Bromell, 58, of Freehold Township passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Jim was born in Neptune and was a life-long Freehold Township resident. He had worked as an auto body technician throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties learning his trade from his family’s business and starting his career at Doug’s Auto Body. Jim most recently worked for Carlson's Automotive & Body Shop, Jackson and previously worked at Pinto's Auto Body and Freehold Collision Center in Freehold. He was a virtuoso in Auto Body and Painting and painted the Batmobile car that was displayed at Great Adventure. Cars were Jimmy's passion and his life. From thrilling days at Raceway Park to cheering on specific NASCAR drivers, from the driver experience at Pocono Raceway to working on a pit crew in the IROC Series, he lived for everything automotive. He loved restoring classic cars and even cherished the memory of shaking Dale Earnhardt Sr.'s hand. Basically, if it had four tires and an engine, Jimmy was into it. A true Ford enthusiast, he had a special place in his heart for Mustangs, especially the iconic Mach 1. Always ready to lend a hand, Jimmy could often be found at the farm (Sundance Ranch) mowing the grass and helping out wherever he was needed. He was a devoted husband, a proud and loving father, a cherished son, a loyal brother, caring in-law, and a dear friend to many. His warmth and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone lucky enough to know him.
Jim is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Donna (nee Goch) Bromell; the apple of his eye, his daughter, Nicole Borges and her husband, Conner; his parents, Douglas and Rose Marie Bromell; sister, Ann Marie Bollmeyer and her husband, Richard; brother, Douglas Bromell, Jr.; niece, Melissa Bollmeyer; nephew, Richard Bollmeyer; in-laws, Eugene and Carol Goch; sister-in-law, Doreen Goch; and aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
