Obituary of Gerald Gibbons

Gerald Gibbons, 61, of Waretown passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.  He was born in Queens, NY, raised in Staten Island, and lived in Brick and Waretown.  Gerald was a lover of all things water; he enjoyed fishing and boating, and worked as a hard hat diver for over 20 years.  He shared his knowledge of the ocean with his children and taught them all to dive.  Gerald was a talented carpenter and had a great sense of humor.  He had a huge heart, would help anyone and was protective of those he loved.  Gerald also had an ever-expanding number of tattoos and appreciated the meaning behind them.  He will be remembered as a generous and compassionate man who treasured his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Gerald and Veronica Gibbons. Gerald is survived by his partner, Jeanne McMahon; children, Mike Gibbons and his wife, Alycia, Bryan Gibbons and his wife, Lauren, James Gibbons and his girlfriend, Megan, and Alexa Rack and her husband, Brendan; grandchildren, Michael, Antonella, Beau, Mako, Violet and Finn; sisters, Kathy Lafferty and her husband, James, and Karen Gibbons; and many nieces and nephews.
