Obituary of Ellen Elaine Nosser
Elaine Ellen Nosser, 82, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2024, at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, New Jersey, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on May 2, 1942, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Elaine was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who cherished her family and faith.
Adopted as a young child by Floyd and Ruth Noblin, Elaine always held a deep gratitude for her kind and gentle parents, whose love shaped her outlook on life. She grew up alongside her best friend, Sarah Elliot, in Forest, Mississippi, creating precious memories and a lifelong bond. Elaine was raised a devout Southern Baptist and remained dedicated to her faith throughout her life.
Elaine attended Mississippi College in Clinton, a small Baptist school, where she earned a degree in English and a minor in Education. For several years, she shared her knowledge by teaching elementary English in Mississippi. In 1964, Elaine married the love of her life, John Nosser, at Forest Baptist Church. Together, they shared 48 joyful years, including time spent running a jewlery store in Colorado, until John’s passing in 2012.
Elaine and John were blessed with three beloved daughters—Kimberly, Emelia, and Rene—whom Elaine considered her greatest achievement. Her legacy of love and kindness lives on in her eight grandchildren—Taylor, Aleczander, Audrey, Matthew, Lia, Samantha, Fletcher, and Sophia—and her great-grandson, Jaxx, each of whom she adored wholeheartedly.
Elaine was a radiant presence, known for her elegance, strength, and the warmth of her smile, even during difficult times. Her infectious laughter and gentle spirit brightened the lives of all who knew her. She cherished honesty, family, faith, and the occasional bit of mischief. Elaine loved playing mahjong and bridge with friends and gathering her family close whenever she could. And, of course, she couldn’t resist a good gin and tonic!
A service to celebrate Elaine’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.
