Obituary of Bernard Schwartz

Bernard Schwartz, 93, of Jackson passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at The Manor, Freehold. He was born in Albany, New York and raised in the Bronx. Bernard then lived in Wayne for many years where he raised his family before settling in Jackson in 2014. He bravely served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Bernard was an avid sports fan, especially cheering on the Giants, Yankees, and Rangers. He was a smart, kind, and generous man, and was a veracious reader. Above all, Bernard was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He was predeceased by his parents, Meyer and Beatrice Schwartz; and sister, Eleanor Phillips and her husband, Robert. Bernard is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Clare Nunziata; sons, Douglas Schwartz and his wife, Barbara, and Michael Schwartz and his wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Justin Schwartz and Gregory Schwartz; nieces and nephews, Randy Phillips, Steven Phillips, Lauren Nunziata, Gene Michael Nunziata, John Donovan, and Christine Zackart and her husband, Otto; and in-laws, Stephanie Donovan, Eugene Nunziata, and extended family.
