Obituary of James A. Gambale

James A. Gambale, 57, of Freehold Township passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 13, 2024.  James was born, raised and had lived in Brooklyn until moving to Freehold Township in 2009.  He had worked as an elevator mechanic for Nouveau Elevator in Brooklyn.  James was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Freehold.  He had a lifelong passion for model trains, not only collecting but also building and operating them with great care.  James was also an avid radio control enthusiast.  Known for his exceptional skills to fix anything, he truly had "hands of gold".  James' love of cars, especially Camaros and Corvettes, was undeniable.  He relished his time watching the races, whether it was NASCAR or Formula 1.  A loyal sports fan, he was devoted to the New York Yankees and the New York Rangers, cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm.

James was predeceased by his parents, James F. and Lucille Gambale.  He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Donna (nee Fortunato) Gambale; two sons, Dominick and Anthony; his siblings, Laurie Guarraci and her husband, Andrew and Lisa Goldbetter and her husband, Jon; and many loving, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws and dear friends.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM Funeral Mass on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold.   Entombment will follow in St. Gabriel Cemetery and Chapel Mausoleum, Route 520, Marlboro.  For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Park 80 West, Plaza II, 250 Pehle Avenue, Suite 202, Saddle Brook, NJ 07663.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
