Obituary of Sharon E. Krause

Sharon E, Krause, 71, of Howell passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Centrastate Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Mt. Holly and was raised in Mt. Laurel and had lived in Newport, Rhode Island, Norfolk, Virginia and Maple Shade before settling in Howell in 1994. Sharon worked in the construction and permits department for the township of Delran for 26 years, where she made a lasting impact on the community she served. In her free time, Sharon was very active at the Church of St. Veronica, where she participated in religious education and found great joy in her faith. She was a great friend to all who knew her, always willing to lend a listening ear or a helping hand. Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, being very active in raising her granddaughter, Hailey. She married her husband on St. Patrick's Day in 1973, a day that held special significance for them both. Sharon was a pillar of strength and love for her family, always putting their needs above her own. Her kindness, generosity, and loving spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

She was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Emma Schmalbach. Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Harold Krause of Howell; two sons, Robert Krause and his wife, Jenifer of Mullica Hill and Douglas Krause of Howell; granddaughter, Hailey Krause; siblings, Carol, Diane, Bonnie, David and Donna.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, October 14, 2024 from 9:00 to 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 12:00 PM Funeral Mass at the Church of St. Veroncia, 4219 US-9, Howell Township, on October 14, 2024. Entombment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, 299 Freehold-Englishtown Road Freehold Township, New Jersey.
