Obituary of Carolina Chiappetta

Carolina “Carol” Chiappetta passed away surrounded by her children in her home on Oct 4 2024. Carolina Chiappetta was born in Fiumefreddo Di Bruzio, Calabria, Italy to Domenico and Giovanna Chilelli. She emigrated to the United States 1947. She lived in Brooklyn, NY where she met the love of her life Luigi “Louis” Chiappetta, they married in 1951 until his death 2007. The family also lived in Staten Island and finally New Jersey.

Mrs. Chiappetta was known for her love of cooking and enjoying large meals with her family while sharing stories of her life in Italy. She was well known for her infectious smile, generosity and love of life and became a friend to all who met her. She was active in her community belonging to many clubs, she enjoyed playing bocce, bowling, going to the gym, listening to opera and dancing. Her most precious joy is the love of her grandchildren who she was affectionately called Nani.

She is also predeceased by her brother Victor Chilelli.

She is survived by her children, Vincent (Maryann) Chiappetta, Lilly Chiappetta, Louis (Janine) Chiappetta, her brother Frank Chilelli (Marie), sister-in-law Maureen Chilelli and her grandchildren, Vincent Chiappetta, Kristina (Richard) Southgate, Louis Chiappetta, Joseph Chiappetta as well as extended family and friends that includes many nephews and nieces.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 9:30 AM for the procession to her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold.  Entombment will follow in Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel.  For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to either the American Cancer Society, Post Office Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or MS Society NJ Metro Chapter, 1480 US Highway 9, Suite 301, Woodbridge, NJ  07095.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
