Obituary of Kevin C. Ruberg

Kevin C. Ruberg, 68, of Howell passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2024. He was born in Staten Island, NY and raised in Neptune. Kevin had lived in Virginia, Massachusetts, Lakewood, Brick, and Asbury Park before settling in Freehold in 1995. He had worked as a carpenter for many years and was a member of the Local #2250, Red Bank. Kevin had a passion for being creative and spent his free time carving wood. He spent much time outdoors where he enjoyed hunting turkey and pheasant, shooting trap at E.H. Salomon, visits to the beach and going saltwater fishing. Kevin was a devoted hockey fan but specifically a fan of the New York Rangers. He had a passion for music throughout his life and could be heard listening to Frank Zappa and attended concerts frequently. Kevin was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.He was a man that loved to spin a Yarn and Tell a Tale. Remember these Stories as you will never hear them again.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cynthia “Cindy” Ruberg of Howell; children, Yuri Ruberg of Howell and Emily Ruberg of Hendersonville, NC; mother, Rosemary Ruberg of Wanamassa; siblings, Ernest “Ernie” Ruberg of Bensalem, PA and Rosemary Boettke and her husband, Peter of Virginia. Melvin and Lisa Kurtz of Virginia, Kim Kurtz of Jackson. William Bennet of Howell and Christine Bennet of Florida. His nieces and nephews  Mel, Micah, and Travis Kurtz. Mark, Eric and Amy Ruberg , Melissa Daniels, Matthew and Stephan Boettke and Jessie Bennet.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 12:00 Noon Memorial Mass at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, 3455 W Bangs Avenue, Neptune on Saturday, April 13, 2024.  Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements by the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township.  For information or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
