Obituary of Kevin Christopher Mikkelson

Kevin Christopher Mikkelson, 40, of Jackson passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold.  Kevin was born in Lakewood, raised in Howell, and moved to Jackson in 2014.  Most recently, Kevin had worked for Gutter Master in Jackson as an Aquatic Displacer.   Along with his wife, Kristina and stepson, Nicholas, he helped out at Pool Docs / Ocean County Pools and previously worked in the Grounds and Maintenance Department for Monmouth County.  Kevin had a passion for anything with a motor, notably Ford Mustangs.  He was a skateboarder, a crabber, and relished his time fishing on the head boats in Belmar.  He loved his pets whom he called his babies, especially his two turtles, two ducks and his three cats.  Kevin to great solace in the conversation and times with family and friends.

Though Kevin left this world too soon, he was able to donate both of his kidneys, giving two people the gift of a new life.  This act encompasses the true being and soul that he had. 

Kevin was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Nicholas and Winnie Mikkelson.  He is survived by his wife, Kristina; children, Ryley James Caburis and Tyler Christopher Mikkelson; stepchildren, Nicholas Gomes and Katrina Gomes; Emma Mailloux, whom he took on the role of father for; grandson, Levi; mother, Deborah Mikkelson; father, Christopher DeFazio and Dottie; brother, Gary Kovacs and his wife, Pamala; stepbrother, Jeffery; stepsister, Gina; brother-in-law, Philip Visaggio and his wife, Brittany; sister-in-law, Tiffany Riccardi and her husband, Joey and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
