Obituary of Irene M. Nuccio
Irene M. Nuccio, 99, of Howell Township passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Irene was born and raised in Redfield, South Dakota and met her husband during World War II while working as a registered nurse. They settled in Howell Township in 1946 and lived there for seventy-seven years. Irene worked as a registered nurse at Paul Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood until retiring to raise her family. With her husband, Andrew, she relished her time traveling. They traveled to all fifty States, cruised and visited many countries throughout Europe to the Middle East and Central America. They were "World Travelers". Irene was devout catholic and was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Farmingdale. Throughout the years, she could be found at Howell Lanes many a night. Irene was always known to keep her house neat and tidy but being Grandma Choo-Choo and spending time with family was all that she cared about.
Irene was predeceased by her husband, Andrew; two daughters, Clara Louise Nuccio and Amelia Nuccio; a son, Alan Nuccio; a grandson, William Lloyd; a great grandson, Damien Nuccio; and six siblings. She is survived by; three children, Andrew Jesse Nuccio and his wife, Jacqueline of Ocala, FL, Ann Jeanette Lloyd-Costello and her husband, Bernie of Allenhurst, and Charles A. Nuccio and his wife, Patty of Reno, NV; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Nuccio of Eatontown; seven grandchildren; Andrew Nuccio II and his wife, Holly, Michelle Furrer and her husband, Richard, Lisa Citron and her husband, Jeff, Joseph Nuccio and his wife, Michelle, Collin (Fox) Nuccio, Cara Nuccio, and Charles Nuccio; granddaughter-in-law, Kelly Lloyd; thirteen great grandchildren; two great-greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Friday, September 1, 2023 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale, NJ 07727. Interment will follow in St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.
