Obituary of Edward W. Adamek
Edward W. Adamek, 74, of Freehold Township passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born and raised in the Bronx, NY, moved to Howard Beach Queens and settled here in 1991. After proudly serving in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, Ed worked as a programmer for J.P. Morgan prior to his retirement in the early 1990s. He was a member of the Olive Branch Masonic Lodge No. 16, serving as the Worshipful Master in 2006 and Grand Chaplin in 2012. Ed was also the Grand Representative of New York for the Order of the Eastern Star, Molly Pitcher Chapter No. 198. He was a parishioner of the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, Freehold Township. Being born in the Bronx, it automatically made Ed a NY Yankee’s fan for life. Always putting other people first, his joking personality would light up a room as soon as he entered. Family was everything to Ed but being a “Grandpa” was his greatest accomplishment in life.
Ed is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diane Adamek; two daughters, Heather Hetyey and her husband, Steve of Toms River, and Tara Panella and her husband, Matt of Freehold Township; five grandchildren, Alyssa, Anthony, Stephen, Jackson and Julian; and his extended family, Linda Tier and her children, Michael Tier and Jennifer Nunalee and their families.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with his Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 PM. A Order of the Eastern Star service will be held at 1:15 PM and a Masonic service will be held at the conclusion of his Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Olive Branch Masonic Lodge No. 16, 2 Dutch Lane Road, Freehold, NJ 07728.
