Obituary of Gloria Dowd

Gloria “Kathy” Dowd, 75, of New Egypt passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Centra State Medical Center, Freehold. She was born and raised in Brooklyn and after several moves settled in New Egypt in 2022. Kathy worked as an administrative assistant for numerous accounting firms. She had lived in Leisure Village West, Manchester where she was involved in many social clubs, including the Manchester First Aide Woman’s Auxiliary. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, reading and audio books. Kathy’s greatest gift was her ability to deeply connect with everyone she met, she was open and accepting. She touched many lives and was a great friend to all who knew her. Kathy’s legacy will carry on, reminding us that we can choose to live a life filled with meaningful acts of love.

She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent T. Dowd and her son, Timothy J. Dowd. Kathy is survived by her three daughters, Ann Gosselin and her husband, Luke of Northfield, Maine, Tina Dowd and her partner, Michael Elmer of New Egypt and Mary Motus and her husband, Daniel of Browns Mills; eight grandchildren, Madeline, Paige, Holden, Aaralyn, Hailey, Mia, Timothy and Mason; many extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, January 23, 2023, from 9:00 to 12:30 PM with her Funeral Service to follow. Interment will take place at St. Rose Cemetery, 299 Freehold-Englishtown Road, Freehold, NJ 07728.  For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
