James Lore

Obituary of James E. Lore

James Eric Lore, 49, a lifelong resident of Farmingdale/Howell, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022. He worked for many years as a concrete truck driver for Silvi and Clayton, and for the past 17 years, as a tractor-trailer driver for UPS/TForce Freight CDL. James enjoyed annual camping trips in an RV while going to 410 sprint car races in Pennsylvania and big block modified races in New York. He was an avid hockey fan, bled blue for the New York Rangers, was a champion of horseshoes and cornhole, and loved being a pinball wizard. A true lover of punk rock, thrash, and heavy metal music, he enjoyed jam sessions with Jake. James was a vintage car enthusiast forever working on his 1979 Chevrolet Bitchin’ Camaro and cruising in his 1987 Buick Grand National that he proudly presented in the Farmingdale Memorial Day parade. He was the founder and proprietor of the Orange Hill Minibike Club, where many of his lifelong friends would congregate for weekend racing. James enjoyed many gourmet date nights, Monday morning Mulligans trips, and he thought of himself as a “grill master extraordinaire,” boasting to friends and family that HE was the best. He was a proud American patriot and loved the American flag. James will be remembered for his selflessness, kind smile, genuine demeanor and willingness to help anyone in need. He will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Wilbur and Margaret Boyce; paternal grandparents, Ted and Rebecca Lore; uncle, Timothy Boyce, cousin Justin Boyce and fan favorite feline, Dale Earnhardt. James is survived by his parents, Norene and James Lore; beloved Boo of 11 years, Krista Regan, and her son, Jake Dawson Scott; siblings, Sean Lore and his wife, Marissa of Salt Lake City, Utah; Matthew Lore, his wife, Chelsea and their son Lucas of Neptune, and Benjamin Lore and his wife, Nicole of Hackettstown; his godson Eugene Thomas Salomon; two canine companions, Cookie Dough and Dave Maloney; three feline companions, Willie Nelson, Chevy, and Tux; many loving uncles, aunts, and cousins; and countless loving friends.
