Saveria Cadotte

Obituary of Saveria Cadotte

Saveria “Rene” Cadotte passed away at home Saturday, August 20, 2022 after a long struggle with COPD. Her loving family and wonderful aide Charmaine were by her side. Rene was born in New York City March 27, 1929 and was pre-deceased by her parents Salvatore and Maria Barretta Ferrante, her older brother James Ferrante, her husband of 56 years Roland J. Cadotte and her grandson Ryan Cadotte.

Rene grew up in Manhattan and attended Julia Richmond High School and was part of the famed Central High School of Needle Trades class of 1947.

Rene met and married her husband Roland while working on Wall Street as a keypunch clerk. Following the birth of her two beloved children, they moved to Freehold in 1967 to raise their family.

Rene and Roland spent 49 years together on Lutea Terrace watching their family grow and making many friends in the community. They spent some of their retirement years in a golf community in Fort Myers, FL. Rene was not known for her golfing prowess but did enjoy friends and became an accomplished artist.

She is survived by her son Roland Jr. and his wife Alice, and her daughter Gina Walling and her husband Glen, all of Freehold; her sister Grace Brusca of Woodbury, NY and her brother Vincent Ferrante and his wife Minerva of Bardonia, NY; and by her much loved nieces and nephews.

Rene was blessed to be a constant presence in the lives of her adored grandchildren: Roland J. Cadotte III (RJ) and wife Brittany, Evan Cadotte and wife Paige, Melanie Evans and husband Terence, Brett Walling and girlfriend Natalie Angelo, Ryan Cadotte; great granddaughter Aaliyah Evans and newest addition to the family great grandson Roland J. Cadotte IV - (Rowe) We know she will be watching over her two great grandchildren not yet born.

Rene devoted her life to caring for her family. She deeply enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up, proudly attending every school and sporting event. She also had a strong devotion to animals and was notorious for spoiling all of the family dogs, who would always gather around her whenever possible for treats. Rene also loved to sew and make visits to Atlantic City with her husband and daughter.

She was a beloved mother and mother-in-law and the Greatest Grandmother in the World who will be deeply missed and loved forever by those she left here on earth. We know she is now happily reunited with her angels.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, August 26, 2022 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.  For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to Epilepsy Foundation, Attn: Donor Services, 3540 Cran Highway, Suite 675, Bowie, MD 20716 or by phone at 1-800-213-5821.
