Obituary of George E. Dorry, Jr.

George E. Dorry, Jr., 90, of Doylestown, PA passed away peacefully at Wesley Enhanced Living, Doylestown.  George was born on Staten Island, NY and was raised in the West Brighton and Todt Hill sections.  He then lived in the Eltingville and the Prince’s Bay sections of Staten Island before moving to Whitehouse, NJ and then to Lake Wallenpaupack, PA.  George moved to Doylestown in 2019.  He was the owner of H & E Tool Rental Corp., Staten Island until his retirement.  Prior to that, George was a co-owner of Kieran Fuel Oil Company in Staten Island.  He was a former member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Richmond County Kiwanis Club, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Richmond Forest No. 66 and Tompkins Lodge #471 Free & Accepted Masons, all of Staten Island.  George also dedicated his time to the Boy Scouts.  He was a collector of stamps, had a passion for the game of basketball and golf, and enjoyed watching sports on TV.  In retirement, you could find George on his boat on Lake Wallenpaupack.  He was a faithful husband for 67 years, loving father, adoring grand and great-grandfather, and devoted brother.

George is survived by his wife, Diane; two sons, Jeffery Dorry and his wife, JoAnn of Little Egg Harbor Township and Scott Dorry of Three Bridges; three grandchildren, Brian Dorry, Matthew Dorry and his wife, Ashley, and Caitlin Dorry; four great grandchildren, Olivia, Emily, Charlotte, and Theodore; and his sister, Diana Huth of North Carolina.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM with his funeral service to be held at 4:00 PM.  For those who are unable to attend in person, you may participate via the funeral home’s webcast HERE.  Interment will be private.  For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
