Obituary of Frank A. Giordano

Frank A. Giordano, 85, of Freehold Township passed away surrounded by his loving wife and children on Thursday, September 9, 2021.  He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and settled here in 2005.  Frank was a pharmacist and the owner of Friscia Pharmacy and Mermaid Pharmacy in Brooklyn.  He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Grace and St. Bernards of Brooklyn, and the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, Freehold Township.  He served as President of the Coney Island Board of Trade and the Coney Island Alliance and was the recipient of numerous awards including the Italian Board of Guardians’ Man of the Year Award for his charity, love, and community involvement. In addition, he was the first recipient of the Business Humanitarian Award for his promotion of friendship and peace in the community and was known as the unofficial Mayor of Coney Island where he worked tirelessly with outstanding dedication to the Neighborhood Improvement Organization.

 

He was predeceased by his parents, Saverio and Antonietta Sorrentino; and son, Francis X. Giordano.  Frank is survived by his wife of 61 years, Caroline Giordano of Freehold Township; daughter, Maria A. Said and her husband, Essam of Rockaway, Queens; sons, Dr. Frank A. Giordano and his wife, Christina of Manalapan, and John Giordano and his wife, Ingrid of Marlboro; eight grandchildren, Nicholas Compagnone, Michael Said, John Said, Francesca Giordano, twins, Ava and Andrew Giordano, Isabelle Giordano and Jason Giordano; and one brother, John Giordano of Barnegat, NJ.   

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale, NJ.  Entombment will follow in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum, Marlboro.
