Joyce Angelo, age ninety, passed away surrounded by her daughters on June 3, 2021 following a short illness. Born in Bloomfield, NJ in 1930, Joyce was one of seven children. Following her marriage in 1952, she moved to Union Beach, NJ where she was active in the community and a member of the township planning board. She subsequently moved to Howell, NJ where she lived for the remainder of her life. During her final years at Brandywine Senior Living, she was a member of the Legion of Mary, and had many friends who loved her positive attitude and spirit. Her family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Brandywine Senior Living for taking such good care of Joyce, especially during the trials of the pandemic.
Joyce is survived by two daughters, Donna Weeks and her husband, Daniel, and Susan Critelli and her husband, Robert. Joyce loved her grandchildren, Aimee Weeks and her partner Marissa Scafidi, Brian Weeks, Justin Critelli and Lauren Critelli. Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Donato Angelo and her brothers and sisters.
Joyce spent most of her adult life happily raising a family and co-managing the family business, Dan Angelo Fillets. Prior to marriage, Joyce held several jobs, including employment at Lehn and Fink, Peerless Tubes and a time as a telephone operator. In her final years, she enjoyed making rosary beads, crocheting and spending time with family. Joyce lived a long and full life and will be deeply missed by family and friends alike.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. until the procession to her 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Entombment will follow in Fair View Cemetery & Mausoleum, 456 Route 35, Red Bank, NJ 07701.
