Edward H. Jones, 69, of Farmingdale passed away peacefully on Friday, May 28, 2021, surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born in Orange, NJ and lived in Millburn, Totowa, and New Lisbon before settling permanently at the Miller Group Home in Farmingdale where he resided since 1984. Eddie was a member of the Friends of Special Athletes, Special Olympics Bowling Team, and attended the All-in-a- Day adult program in Manalapan. As a young boy he would look forward to his family time, whether it would be a trip to the blueberry patch or to a local restaurant for lunch, traditions that carried over into his adult years, and turned into lobster dinners with his brothers Fred and Peter and his sister Alice. Recently the highlight of his life was his weekly zoom phone calls from his siblings. After his outings with his family, he always loved coming home to his housemates to entertain them with news of his adventures. He was very social and loved being the center of attention, celebrating every holiday, and everybody’s birthday giving his own rendition of Happy Birthday. Eddie would collect all things native American and always had a collection of dream catchers around him. He was sweet, loving, and appreciative to his staff. Eddie’s family would like to thank all those who cared for him over the years. He will forever be missed by his family and friends at the Miller Group Home.
He was predeceased by his parents, Elin and Dayton Jones and his younger brother Dayton William. Eddie is survived by his loving siblings, Alice Jones Dan, Fred (Linda), and Peter (Claudia), and nephews and nieces Christopher, Peter, Thomas, Corinna, Sarah, Katherine and Tycho as well many great nieces and nephews, and of course his wonderful care givers, staff and family at the Miller Group Home.
All arrangements are private and under the direction of the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home. For information or to leave condolence messages to the family, please visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
