Esther Pierce

Obituary of Esther V. Pierce

Esther Pierce, 104, of Howell passed away at home on Sunday, May 9, 2021. She was a self-educated woman who was never without a book at her side. Esther was a woman of faith who read her Bible more than any other book. She was the Matriarch of the Pierce family and the person who family and friends all came to for advice and spiritual guidance in prayer. Esther had a kind and generous nature, exemplifying charity in every aspect of her life. She spent her years caring for four generations of children for family and friends who became family. She was known as the church mother and worked tirelessly in the church for over 60 years taking pride in her position on the missionary board. She will be  remembered for the wisdoms she passed down to her family and the prayers she shared with her friends at the Greater Bethel Church of God & Christ.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband Aaron Pierce, her son Preston Mack, and her daughter Wilma Thomas. Esther is survived by her children, Rose Jones and her husband, Cecil of Howell; and Marion Rollins and her husband, Harold of Manchester; her nine grandchildren, and many extended family members.
