Obituary of Shirley Creadle

Shirley Creadle was born on October 15, 1952 in South Carolina and was raised in Lakewood, NJ. She passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 of natural causes at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, Camden, NJ. Shirley was currently a resident of Burlington County, residing in Pemberton, NJ.

Shirley was born to Mother, Ruth Gillard and Father, John Kelly, both predeceased. She was predeceased by her grandmother, Jannie Gillard; husband, Elbert Callahan; daughter, Lucretia Creadle. Shirley was predeceased by brothers, John Gadson, James Gadson, Gilbert Gadson, Willis Gadson, Kevin Gadson; sisters, Mary Vaugh, Joyce Gadson, and Violet Mann. She is survived by brothers; Charles Gadson of Manchester, NJ, Eddie Mann of Somerset, NJ; sisters, Betty Gadson of Lakewood, NJ, Jannie Gillard of Norfolk, VA and Hope Frederick of Georgia.

Shirley is survived by daughter, Shana Creadle-Donaldson of Toms River, NJ; three sons, Hayward Creadle, Jr. of Camden, NJ, Edward Callahan of Pemberton, NJ, and Andrew Callahan of Toms River, NJ; five grandsons, Darryl, Donnell, Kasim, Jayden, and Ethan; seven granddaughters, Jazmin, Chasity, Anika, Rodaya, Rodaysha, Julia, and Eva; two great-grandchildren, Zamora and Naomi; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Shirley was a graduate of Lakewood High School in Lakewood, NJ. She embarked on a career as a Certified Nurse’s Aid, which outlined her character as a nurturer and giver.

Shirley was known for her outgoing and outspoken spirit. She was strong willed and had a heart of gold. Without looking for rewards, Shirley was ready to lend a hand in anyway she could. Shirley was a giver of unconditional love, kindness, humor, comfort and lessons in life. Being talkative was definitely one of her strongest qualities. She was never afraid to tell it how it is! And she was always ready to express her love and faith in God.

Shirley was greatly loved by all who came into contact with her. Even though her life wasn’t easy, she always persevered, pushed through it and made the best of what she had. Shirley was deeply loved and will truly be missed by all that she leaves behind.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 3:00 to 4:00 PM with her memorial service to follow at 4:00 PM.
