Obituary of Megan Alexa Schulman

Megan Alexa Schulman, 23, of Bloomfield, CT and formerly of Freehold, NJ passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Lenox Hill Hospital, NY.  She was born in Summit, NJ, but was raised in Freehold Township.  Megan was the salutatorian of the Freehold Township High School Class of 2016 where she was a member of the varsity soccer and basketball team. She later attended Washington University in St. Louis where she double majored in mathematics and statistics as well as finance and was a member of the Women’s Club Soccer team. During college, she belonged to the Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority where she served as the Vice President of Administration and Philanthropy Chairman. In the latter role, she was responsible for organizing various philanthropy events raising money for the Arthritis Foundation. She was also the Student Finance Director at the Washington University Campus YMCA where she coached youth basketball and soccer. Megan was an Actuarial Senior Analyst with Cigna as part of the company’s highly selective Actuarial Executive Development Program. She worked tirelessly as a volunteer and was remarkably giving with her time.  Megan loved helping people and had an extremely positive outlook on life.  She was fiercely loved and will be remembered forever.

Megan was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Paul and Myrna Schulman; and her maternal grandmother, MaryAnn Di Angelo.  She is survived by her parents, Stuart and Michele Schulman of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Freehold Township; her sister, Jenna Schulman of West Hartford, CT; her brother Tyler Schulman of Tampa, FL; maternal grandfather, Joseph Di Angelo of Myrtle Beach, SC; many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins; and friends too numerous to count.
