Obituary of Donald Megill
Donald E. "Rusty" Megill, 85, of Freehold Township passed away Monday, November 21, 2011 at Wedgwood Gardens, Freehold Township. He was born in Neptune, NJ and lived in Manalapan before moving to Freehold Township in 1976. Rusty was a weaver at A & M Karagheusian Rug Mill in Freehold for over 17 years. Most recently he was a courier for the Freehold Regional High School District retiring in 2003. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post #54 and also the V.F.W. Post #4374 both of Freehold. Rusty also was a member of the Silvermead Community Club. He was well known for his sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Doris A. Ekdahl Megill of Freehold Township; a sister, Vera Conover of Wall Township; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, (Route 524) Freehold Township on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Friday, November 25, 2011 at 11:00 Am at the funeral home with the Rev. William Frederickson, officiating. Interment will follow in Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Rusty's memory to the Freehold First Aid & Rescue Squad, 18 Spring Street, Freehold, NJ 07728.
