Obituary of Truby Jean Dibb

Truby Jean Dibb (nee Smith), 87, Chelsea at Forsgate Assisted Living in Monroe Township, NJ, passed away peacefully at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center after a courageous battle with several respiratory infections and pneumonia on Sunday, January 31, 2021.  Truby was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana and lived in Wisconsin, Colorado, Michigan, and New Jersey. She was involved in her community in Freehold Township, volunteering and fundraising for the Freehold Township High School Band and Monmouth County 4-H. Truby was active in Cecilian Music Club with Lillian Livingston, and a philanthropist for the arts throughout Monmouth County. She had a passion for reading, ballroom dancing, and listening to classical music. With a thirst for gardening, Truby belonged to several garden clubs.  She was a former member of both Hope Lutheran Church and First Presbyterian Church of Freehold.  Truby was devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmama, adoring great gram, and caring sister. 

 

Truby was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Gertrude Smith, Sr.; her stepfather, James Wiley; a brother, Kenneth L. Smith, Jr.; and a half-sister, Sandra Zornes.  She is survived by her children, Kevin Dibb and his wife, Debbie of Mason, OH, Debbi Dibb of Fort Mohave, AZ, Diana Dibb of Brick, NJ, and Tori Sikkema and her husband, Stephen of Millstone Township, NJ; grandchildren, Jessica Dibb of Mason, OH, Greg Hall and his wife, Alexis of Claremont, CA, Justin Dibb and his wife, Lisa of Ocean Gate, NJ, and Kyle Sikkema and Grant Sikkema both of Millstone Township, NJ; great grandchildren, Hammond, Makenzie, and Cameron; half-sister, Bonnie Featheringham of Campbellsville, Kentucky; an adopted sister, Debbie-Sue Perkins of Kentucky; and numerous cousins, extended family, especially,  Marysue Murray of Forked River, NJ and dear friends. 

 

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 11:00 to 1:00 PM with her funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Edward Kropa officiating.  For the safety of the public, we are asking everyone to help us adhere to the CDC guidelines. Facemasks will be required. For those who cannot attend in person you may participate via webcast through Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home’s website HERE.
