Obituary of Margaret Bolch

Margaret Bolch, 85, of Howell passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.  She was born in Rossaveal, County Galway, Ireland and had lived there until coming to the United States in the late 1950’s settling in Port Chester, NY.  Along with her husband, Roy, she moved to Los Angeles to start their family.  They moved back east to Parlin and bought their home in Howell in 1978.  Margaret was educated as a nurse and worked at Port Chester Hospital when she came to the United States.  But her full time job was being mom to her three sons.  Margaret was a devout Catholic and an active parishioner of the Church of St. Veronica in Howell where she prayed the Novena to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal on the first Monday of the month.  She enjoyed exercising, either riding her bike, swimming or just going to the gym.  Margaret was a loving wife, mother and grandma.

Margaret was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph McDonagh and Padraic McDonagh; and six  sisters, Moira McDonagh, Agnes Mulvihill, Brid McDonagh, Kate Flaherty, Julia Flaherty and Nan Suddek.  She is survived by her husband of 56 years, William “Roy” Bolch, Jr.; three sons, Michael Bolch and his wife, Linda of Clifton, Stephen Bolch of Howell, and Kevin Bolch and his wife, Alejandra of Freehold Township; six grandchildren, Bryan, Nicholas, Sophia, Emma, Jonathan, and Jacklyn; two siblings, Colin McDonagh and Ellen Grant of the United Kingdom; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited participate via webcast through Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home’s website HERE.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 9:30 AM Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 16, 2020 at the Church of St. Veronica, 4215 Route 9 North, Howell, NJ 07731.  For the safety of the public, we are asking everyone to help us adhere to the CDC guidelines. Facemasks will be required.
