Obituary of Alfredo Mejia Mendoza

Alfredo Mejia Mendoza , 97, of Howell passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was born and raised in Peru, came to the United States in 1991, living in Cartaret and Linden before settling to Howell in 2020. He worked as a Messenger in Peru for many years and enjoyed writing songs and poems. Alfredo was known for writing songs for every family occasion.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 70 years, Juana Mejia. Alfredo is survived by his children, Adriana Taboada of Pennsylvania, Alfredo Mejia and his wife, Mercedes Avalos of Peru, Teresa LeBron and her husband, Mario of Linden, and Brenda Mejia and her husband, Cesar Perez of Howell; eight grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM with his funeral service to follow. For those who cannot attend in person, the family invites you to participate via Webcast through the Funeral Home Website HERE.
