Obituary of Herbert W. Boynton

Herbert W. Boynton of Manchester passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020 at Community Medical Center. He was born and raised in Granville, NY, lived in Ballston Spa, NY and Gloversville, NY before he settled in Manchester in 2019. Herbert was a graduate of Albany Business College. He bravely served in the United States Air Force. Herbert was the vice president of real estate of Stewarts Ice Cream and previously owned Arterial Lanes in Gloversville, NY. He was an avid bowler, participated in many bowling leagues, and was the Bowling Coach for Mayfield School as well as in Johnstown for several years. Herbert enjoyed watching sports, especially the Yankees. He had such a love for baseball, that he participated in the Gloversville Baseball Little League. Herbert had a passion for horses and car racing. He worked for Saratoga Raceway where he enjoyed watching the races.

He was predeceased by his wife, Leola Boynton in 1995. Herbert is survived by his children, Ronald Boynton of Gloversville, NY, Thomas E. Boynton of Florida, Tammy L. Van Avery of Manchester, NJ, Steven J. Boynton and his fiancée, Susan of Schenectady, NY, and Kelly Supinski and her husband, Thomas of Schenectady, NY; grandchildren, Steven Liberto and his wife, Jessica, Lucas Boynton, and Zachary Boynton; niece, Julie Clark; and many nieces and nephews.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, private services were held with the immediate family. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
