Obituary of Carlo J. Ferrante

Carlo J. Ferrante, 78, of North Fort Myers, FL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Hope Healthcare, Cape Coral, FL.  Carlo was born in Jersey City and raised in Union City.  He had lived in Howell and Toms River before retiring to North Fort Myers in 2016.  Carlo proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He worked for Caruso Excavating, Farmingdale for twenty-one years until his retirement in 2016.  Prior to that, Carlo worked for Red Star Express Lines in Newark for twenty-two years as a vice president of North East Operations.  He was very skilled at building models and had an fondness for architecture design.  Carlo was a passionate NY Giants fan.  Boating and RVing were activities that he enjoyed with his wife, yet planning the party was always his thing.  Carlo was a loving husband for the past forty-eight years, a devoted dad, and an adoring “Poppy” to his grandchildren. 

Carlo was predeceased by his parents, Cato and Jennie Ferrante; and his son, Thomas Carlo Ferrante.  He is survived by his wife, Carol Ferrante (nee Auletto); children, Jennifer Frostick and her husband, James of Howell and Brian Ferrante and his wife, Elen of Jackson; eight grandchildren, Aidan, Connor, Jimmy, Alex, Gabriella, Cole, Victoria, and Troy; a brother, Michael Ferrante and his wife, Audrey of Parsippany; a niece, Laura O’Brien and her husband, Sean and their family of Whippany; a nephew, Michael Ferrante and his wife, Lindsay and their family of Raleigh, NC; and numerous cousins, in-laws, and dear friends.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, October 13, 2019 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Monday, October 14, 2019.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
