Obituary of Dolores Herman

Dolores Herman, 85, of Toms River passed away in her sleep on Monday, September 16, 2019.  She was born and raised in Elizabeth and had lived in Clark prior to settling in Toms River in 2018.  Dolores worked as an assembler for Park Plastics of Linden, and volunteered her time for twenty plus years at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Rahway.  At her community, Greenbriar Woodlands, she belonged to the Crochet Club, and was also a member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry at St. Helen’s Church in Westfield.  Dolores was an amazing seamstress who could make anything, was an expert at cooking Polish food, and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City.   More than anything, she loved helping others and spending time with her family.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Herman in 1993.  She is survived by her two children, Alan Herman and his wife, Linda of Hillsborough, and Elaine Dymyd and her husband, Michael of Howell; grandchildren, Michele Mondoro and her husband, Daniel, Daniel Herman, Jennifer Dymyd and her fiance, Blake Breaux, and Brian Dymyd; and one great grandson, Dominic.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:30 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township on Friday, September 20, 2019.  Interment will follow in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia.  For those who desire, memorial contributions in memory of Dolores may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit
