Obituary of Chester E. Zyskowski

Chester E. Zyskowski, Jr., 73, of South River passed away at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel on Monday, September 2, 2019.   He was born and raised in Jersey City and had lived in Wallington, Hazlet, Tinton Falls and South Amboy before settling in South River ten years ago.  Chet was an insurance agent for Prudential Life Insurance for over 27 years.  He worked and volunteered for the VFW Post of Old Bridge and the Auxiliary #7508, and loved and supported the veterans of America.  Known as “The Boss” to his family and friends, Chet loved weekend getaways and eating kielbasa and steak.   More than anything, he loved his family and friends. 

Chet is survived by his children, Michael Zyskowski and his wife, Lisa of Freehold Township, Laura Presti and her husband, Jerry of Jackson, Joseph Zyskowski and his wife, Kelly of Toms River; and five grandchildren, Shaye, Ryan, Lily, Kaylee and Ashley Elizabeth. 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:30 AM Funeral Mass on Friday, September 6, 2019 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.  Interment will be private.  For those who desire, memorial contributions in memory of Chester may be made to Disabled Veterans of America, Post Office Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
