Obituary of Marie J. McIntire

Marie J. McIntire, 72, of Jackson passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 15, 2019.  Marie was born and raised in the Bronx.  She had also lived in Rochelle Park, Bridgewater and Monroe Township before moving to Jackson in 2004.  Marie worked as an accountant for J. Wilner & Associates, Manalapan for over twenty five years and then retired as an independent consultant just this year.  She was fun.  Marie had a thirst for gambling and a love for music.  She adored her NY Yankees, but most of all cherished spending time with family and friends, especially during the holidays. Marie was affectionately known as Nanny to her grandsons, who were her world.

She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Robert McIntire; daughter, Lenora Ackerman and her husband, David of Manalapan; son, Jeff McIntire and his wife, Dana of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three grandchildren, Matthew, Nick and Andrew; sister, Lenore Reynolds of Gulfport, FL; brother, Joseph Gironda and his wife, Lucy of Jackson; sister-in-law, Linda Niro and her husband, Carl of Jackson; niece, Rose Marie Iskowitz and her husband, Lee of Branchburg; three nephews, Joseph Gironda and his wife, Selena of Howell; Michael Gironda of Belmar, and Carlo Niro of Bayville.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM Funeral Mass on Monday, August 19, 2019 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson, NJ 08527.  Entombment will follow in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum, Marlboro.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PKD Foundation, 1001 E. 101st Terrace, Suite 220, Kansas City, MO 64131 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  Arrangements by Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, NJ.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit
