Obituary of Thomas LoPresti

Thomas Blaise "Tommy" LoPresti, 55, of New Egypt passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Tommy was born in Brooklyn and was raised and had lived in the Midland Beach section of Staten Island, NY before moving to Levittown, PA, then Monroe Township, NJ, and settling in New Egypt in 2001. He was a producer and editor for CBS News, NYC for fifteen years retiring in 2001, where he received an Emmy in 1996 and was also nominated several times. Prior to that, Tommy worked for CNN, NYC and as a professional musician as a bass guitarist and vocalist. He was a parishioner and member of the parish council at the Church of the Assumption, New Egypt, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 10900 at the church. Tommy adored animals, especially horses and dogs. He had a special touch training horses, most recently with his horse, Chief, whom services children, adults, and veterans with disabilities. Tommy's true passion and love was his family. He embraced each day with a new enthusiasm for life enjoying daily family dinners, attending mass with his family, laughing with friends while riding his horse through the local parks and vineyards, and playing great music with his numerous fellow musicians. Tommy was known for his charming and charismatic ability to put a smile on peoples' faces! He took time to stop and talk with friends and neighbors. Tommy always made each person feel so very special. He had a distinct and unique relationship with his many physicians who provided him with excellent care. Tommy enjoyed being involved with the Plumsted Twp. School District, where his wife is a teacher. He was actively involved in making the world a better place for adults with special needs by donating his time in special projects with the Elizabeth Boggs Center, New Brunswick, NJ. Tommy had a brilliant mind and generous heart. He was a true humanitarian. Tommy will be deeply missed! Tommy was predeceased by his parents, Thomas L. LoPresti in 2003 and Carmella LoPresti in 2010; a brother-in-law, Joseph Martucci in 2009; and his mother-in-law, Kathleen Seiberlich in 2010. He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate, Kathy B. LoPresti; his children, Jacquelyn Ferrara and her husband, Jim of Dresher, PA, Dr. Christine K. McGinnis and her husband, Sean of Philadelphia, PA, Jeffrey B. Prendergast, Jr. and Rikki of New Egypt, NJ; Steven Prendergast of Philadelphia, PA, Daisy Prendergast and Noel of Jackson, NJ and Andrew LoPresti of New Egypt, NJ; a granddaughter, Emma Kathleen Prendergast; two wonderful brothers, Joseph LoPresti of Iselin, NJ and Skip LoPresti and his wife, Audrey of Brick, NJ; his devoted sister, Ann Martucci of Monroe Twp., NJ; four brothers-in-law, Salvatore "Sam" Coppola of Philadelphia, PA, Andrew "Andy" Seiberlich and his wife, Dawn of Bensalem, PA, Anthony "Chal" Seiberlich and his wife, Lynda of Bensalem, PA, and Michael Seiberlich and his wife, Faith of Bensalem, PA; two sisters-in-law, Donna Patrick of Southampton, PA and Sandra "Sissy" Brunell and her husband, Brian of Philadelphia, PA; two nephews, Thomas and Joseph, Jr. as well as many nieces, nephews, and godchildren; a foster son, Richie Ladavich of Philadelphia, PA and his faithful canine companion, Brandie LoPresti. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, NJ on Monday, November 5, 2012 and Tuesday, November 6, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 8:30 AM for the Procession to The Church of the Assumption, 28 Monmouth Road, Wrightstown, NJ for his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, 76 Evergreen Road, New Egypt, NJ.
