Obituary of Mikolaj Iwaniuk

Mikolaj Iwaniuk, 83, of Toms River passed away suddenly on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Community Medical Center.  Mikolaj was born in Poland and had lived in Bialystok, Poland before coming to the United States in 1989 settling in Lakewood.  He just recently moved to Toms River in 2013.  Mikolaj was a mechanic in Bialystok and worked as a mason throughout New Jersey.  He had a love for soccer, a passion for fishing and was a dear friend of Johnnie Walker Black. Mikolaj was a devoted husband, loving father, and a doting Dziadek.  “Remember it is always better to be 15 minutes early.”

Mikolaj was predeceased by his brother, Bazyli Iwaniuk.   He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Wiera; children, Ireneusz Iwaniuk and his wife, Miroslawa of Jackson, Christopher Wieslaw Iwaniuk of Toms River and Anna Talalaj and her husband, Wojciech of Jackson; grandchildren, Paula Iwaniuk-Santos and her husband, André of Brussels, Belgium, Karolina Trause and her husband, Guy of Manchester, Maciej Talalaj of Jackson and Lukasz Talalaj of Jackson; sister, Eugenia Chodan of Bialystok, Poland; brother, Eliasz Iwaniuk of Bialystok, Poland.

Pannyhida will be held at St. Alexander Nevsky R.O. Cathedral, 200 Alexander Avenue, Howell on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 6:30 PM.  His funeral service will be held at the Cathedral on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow in St. Vladimir R.O.
