Obituary of Dominick Deseno

Dominick M. Deseno, 95, of Howell Township, passed away peacefully with his daughter and granddaughter by his side on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township.  Dominick was born in East Chicago, Indiana and was raised in Newark.  He raised his family in Old Bridge before moving to Freehold Twp. in 1981.  He just recently moved to the Brandywine Community in Howell Township where he made many dear friends.  Dominick was a United States Navy Veteran serving his country in the Pacific Theater during World War II.  He retired in 1983 as a mechanical and electrical engineer at Western Electric, Kearny with over forty years of dedicated service.  A jack of all trades, Dominick enjoyed lending a hand especially helping people fix and or build their television sets.  He had a passion for cars and owned a white 1965 Mustang Convertible.  Dominick was a 3rd degree member of the Knight’s of Columbus, Council #1672, Freehold.   He had the gift of gab and will always be remembered for putting a smile on everybody’s face with a good joke. 

Dominick was predeceased by his wife, Ruth Deseno; siblings, Rose Fantetti, Marie Lamensena, Anthony Deseno, Angelina Rastelli and Angelo Deseno.  He is survived by his children, Allan Deseno and his wife, Anna of Marlboro, James Deseno and his husband, Rob Debellis of Hammonton, and Barbara Leahy and her husband, Bill of Old Bridge; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. 

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 9:30 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:30 AM Funeral Mass at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.  Entombment will follow in St. Gabriel’s Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, Marlboro.
