Obituary of Dominic V. Martinez

Dominic Victor Martinez, 21, of Howell passed away suddenly on Friday, November 2, 2018.  He was born in Red Bank and was a lifelong resident of Howell.  A 2015 graduate of Howell High School, Dominic went on to earn his barber license.  He was an extremely talented barber who worked at Justin’s in Morganville, and was known as DVM Barbers.  Dominic was the biggest fan of the Miami Dolphins and Boston Red Sox, and reveled in the recent World Series win.   His favorite pastime was spending time with his friends and family.   He also enjoyed going to car meets and cooking, and he loved tattoos.

Dominic would light up a room when he walked in.  He was a charismatic man, handsome as the day is long, and possessed a gentle warmth.  The outpouring of love his family has experienced in the wake of this loss has been sustaining, to hear of the impact he had on others. Dominic’s family and friends will cherish their memories as they suffer through this tragic loss.  Their world is forever changed.

He was predeceased by his brother, Cole Martinez in 1999.  Dominic leaves behind his loving parents, Carlos and Kristin Martinez; brother and best friend, Nico Martinez; maternal grandmother, Carol Farber and her husband, Norman of Howell; maternal grandfather, Joe Soto and his wife, Gayle of Brick; paternal grandparents, Tony Martinez and his wife, Nancy of Manasquan; aunts and uncles, Carrie Roselli and her husband, Tony of Brick, Michael Farber and his wife, Melissa of New York City, Cathy Farber of Manalapan, Jennifer Anastasio and her husband, Phil of Long Branch,  Alexis Soto of Brick, Claudio Martinez of Freehold Borough, Antonio Martinez and his wife, Alma of Freehold Township;  cousins, D.J., Jessica, Ryan, Alyssa, Alex, Anthony, Henry, Ari, Emilie, Addy, Trip, Juliana, Claudia, London, Antonio, Alexandra, Ashley, Adrianna and Alejandro; his girlfriend, Nicole Belfiore; his dog, Miami; and too many friends to count.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Friday, November 9, 2018.  Interment will be private.
