Obituary of Joanne Scoppettuolo

Joanne Scoppettuolo, 60, of Farmingdale passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 4, 2018 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township.  Joanne was born in Queens and was raised in the Middle Village section of Queens until moving to Howell Township. Along with her husband, Joanne moved to Ocean Township and lived there for 30 years before settling in Farmingdale in 2013.  She worked as a radiation therapist at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank until her retirement.  Joanne had a passion for reading and adored her family and friends. She was a loving mother and a devoted wife.

Joanne was predeceased by her father, Vincent J. Stavola in 2011.  Joanne is survived by her husband of 39 years of marriage but 46 years of love, Stephen Scoppettuolo of Farmingdale; daughter, Adrienne Scoppettuolo of Farmingdale; mother, Theresa Stavola of Howell; sister, Annette Hebel and her husband, William of Port Washington, NY, Janet D’Onofrio and her husband, Louis of Cromwell, CT, and Susan Newell and her husband, Bill of Oceanport; many nieces and nephews; and her faithful feline companion, Cali.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 43 Madison Avenue, Lakewood.  Entombment will follow in St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery & Mausoleum, 1 Honey Locust Road, Lakewood.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  For information, directions, or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
