Vincent Matthew "Chip" Ambrosino, Sr., 71, of Howell passed away at home on Monday, May 28, 2018.   He was born in Staten Island, raised in Mariners Harbor and settled in Howell.  A proud Vietnam veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Chip was a very active volunteer in the Veterans Administration of New York.  He worked as a foreman for the NY City Department of Sanitation for 28 years prior to his retirement in 1996.  Chip also worked as a custodian at PS22 in Staten Island, and was a bouncer at Park Villa Nightclub and Motions in the early 80s.  He was a great man, a good husband, and a loving father and grandfather.  Chip had a big mouth, a big heart, and had a tough love approach.  He was a man’s man who lived by the motto “once a Marine, always a Marine, Semper Fi”.

Chip is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Alva Ambrosino; children, Stacey Maiello and her husband, Michael of Colts Neck, Vincent “Chip” Ambrosino, Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Suffolk, VA, Daniel Ambrosino of Staten Island, and Maritza Barajas and her husband, Mark of Manalapan; ten grandchildren, Alexandra, Michael, Vincent, Johnathan, Genevieve, Vanessa, Casey, Samantha, Phoenix and Mark; and his little brother and best friend, Lawrence E.
