Obituary of Warren Curry

Warren W. Curry, 79, of Howell, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at home. He was born in Port Richmond, Staten Island, NY and raised in Pleasant Plains, Staten Island, NY before moving to Howell in 1982. Warren was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War and was a Bronze Star recipient with V for Valor. He was the Deputy Chief for the Department of Sanitation, City of NY. Warren was also the owner and proprietor of Curry Farms in Howell, as well as the owner of Big C Construction Co. He was a former member of the Howell Township Planning Board, a member of the Howell Chamber of Commerce, Howell Township Republican Club, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign War, and the treasurer of the American Motorcycle Association in Staten Island. Warren was the 2008 Howell Township Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year Recipient as well as a renowned horse trainer who taught many children and adults to ride, and hosted weekly Team Penning events. He had a passion for his wife and family, and his joys included dancing with his wife. Warren is survived by his wife, Ruthie; one son, Michael and his wife, Kristi of Pt. Pleasant; three daughters, Debra Fortunato of Howell, Cynthia Smith and her husband, Edward of Howell, and Sandra Pagano and her husband, Robert of Randall Manor, Staten Island, NY; and eleven grandchildren, Joseph, James and Jessica Fortunato, Kristin and Kelli Smith, Toniann Buscarnera, Christina and Kyle Ligamari and Robert, Nicholas and Olivia Rose Pagano. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township, on Monday, November 7, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 for his funeral service at First United Methodist Church, 8 Main Street, Farmingdale, with Rev. Dr. Wayne Richards officating. Burial will be private.
