Obituary of Shawn R. Orbach

Shawn R. Orbach, 71, of Howell passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at home.  He was born in Jersey City and raised in Union City and Ridgefield.  Shawn raised his family in Dumont before settling in Howell in 2010.  He was a mechanic for the Borough of Dumont for 24 years, retiring in 2008.  Shawn was a proud United States Army veteran serving in Vietnam.  He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Equestra bowling league.  Shawn loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren who meant the world to him.  

Shawn is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley Orbach of Howell; children, Shawn J. Orbach of King of Prussia, PA, Shane Orbach and his wife, Ana Maria of North Caldwell, Shannan Earnest and her husband, Jimmy of Farmingdale; and six grandchildren, Colin, Julia, Chloe, Isabella, Gabriel, and Daniel.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM with his funeral service at 4:00 PM.  A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 11:30 AM in George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shawn’s name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.  For information, directions, or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
