Obituary of Alma Marazita

Alma B. Marazita, 85, of Howell Township passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born on October 6, 1926, Alma was a lifelong Howell resident. She was a bookkeeper for Industrial Controls, Wanamassa, before retiring in 2001. Prior to that, Alma was a bookkeeper for Edgewood Dairy in Howell. She was a member of the Squankum United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Joshua House in Farmingdale. Alma was also a member of the Shore Swingers Square Dance Club. She was always ready to help others. She danced and skated with enthusiasm. She was always ready for fun. She loved to swim, especially in the ocean, and she planned family vacations that encompassed most states east of the Mississippi. She loved to fly in small planes and she loved her cats. Alma was a hard, disciplined and organized worker, which made it possible for her to tend to her family, to work at her beloved bookkeeping, and to enjoy her hobbies, especially square dancing with the Shore Swingers. Her children have absorbed these traits, plus her loyalty. She and her son Timothy cared for her husband at home throughout his last illness. Timothy cared for his mother at home until the last day of her life. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Biase "Benny" Marazita and a sister, Margaret Bills Johnson. Alma is survived by her son, Timothy Marazita of Howell; two daughters, Gwendolyn M. Linn and her husband, Charles of Fairport, New York and Susan M. Dennis and her husband, Daniel of Marion, Ohio; five grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Marazita and her fiancée, Brad Deneski, Sandra Mae Dennis, Courtney Louise Dennis, Victoria Linn, and Diana Linn; a great granddaughter, Alexis Conners; and a nephew, Joseph Johnson of Point Pleasant. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, September 8, 2012 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM with her funeral service to follow at 5:00 PM.
