Obituary of George Burke

George M. Burke, 62 , of Freehold Township, died Saturday, June 18, 2011 at home. Mr. Burke was born in Neptune and was a lifelong resident of Freehold Township. He had been an auto mechanic at Berky's Auto Service in Freehold Township for the past 20 years. Prior to that he was an equipment operator at Midland Glass Company. Mr. Burke also was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jennifer Burke, in 2000. He is survived by a son, George A. Burke of Middletown; a daughter, Kelly Burke of Huntingtown, Maryland; his mother, Pauline M. Burke of Freehold Township; a brother, R. Jeffery Burke of Freehold Township; a sister, Janet G. Sangiovanni of Freehold Township, and two grandchildren, Shayne A. Burke and Kaitlyn Mullen; and his beloved feline, Bear. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Friends may gather on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 9:00 AM for a Rite of Committal followed by a 10:00 AM funeral mass at St. Robert Bellarmine RC Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
