Obituary of Adelaide Prata

Adelaide Prata, 90, of Freehold Township, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at home. Mrs. Prata was born in Lisbon, Portugal and had come to the US in 1945 settling in Jersey City and had lived in Bayonne before moving to Freehold in 1996. Adelaide was a seamstress and a upholsterer for Thomson Brothers Upholstery, Bayonne for over 20 years retiring in 1986. She was predeceased by a sister, three brothers and a son-in-law, James. Adelaide is survived by her husband, Valentine A. Prata; two daughters, Maria Sena and her husband, James of Freehold Twp.; Celeste O'Halloran of Freehold; four grandchildren, Jeanine Mittenzwei and her husband Chris; Kimberly O'Malley and her husband, Kevin; Michael J. O'Halloran and his wife, Heather and Davin J. O'Halloran; and four great grandchildren, Nicholas, Jake, Luke and Chase. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Rite of Committal at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 9:00 AM followed by her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold, NJ.
