Obituary of Joan Nekrasz

Joan M. Nekrasz, 68, of Howell Township passed away on Monday, January 10, 2011, at Bartley Healthcare, Jackson. Joan was born in Wilkes Barre, PA, and had lived in Irvington before moving to Howell in 1981. She was a parishioner of St. Veronica Catholic Church, Howell. Joan was a member of both the Howell Garden Club and the New Jersey Garden Club. She was a systems technician at AT&T, Holmdel, for 18 years retiring in 2001. Prior to that, she was the secretary at Clayton Funeral Home, Adelphia. Joan is survived by her husband, Gerard G. Nekrasz of Howell; 2 sons, Christopher Nekrasz and his wife, Denise, of Howell and Jeffrey Nekrasz of Philadelphia, PA; 2 grandsons, Matthew and Andrew; her mother, Helen Perkoski of Wilkes-Barre, PA; a brother, William Perkoski of Murfreesboro, TN, and 2 sisters, Barbara Kumiega of Endwell, NY, and Rose Dukas of High Falls, NY. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, January 13, 2011, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at 8:30 AM on Friday, January 14, 2011, for the Rite of Committal followed by her 9:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Veronica Catholic Church, 4215 Route 9 North, Howell. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Arneytown, NJ.
