Obituary of Ada Conk

Ada A. Conk, 72, of Freehold Township passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at CentraState Medical on Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Ada was born in Camuy, Puerto Rico, came to the U.S. in 1951 settling in Farmingdale, and was raised there until moving to Freehold Township in 1960. She was a bus driver for the Freehold Twp. Board of Education for over thirty-two years retiring in 2006. Throughout the years, Ada also worked at Great Adventure, Brock Farms, J.J. Newberry, and was known as the Plant Lady of the Route 70 Flea Market. She was a member of the Siloam United Methodist Church and was a founding member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Freehold Independent Fire Company, #1. Ada had a love for bingo, a passion for gardening and enjoyed her travels with the Cape May Girls. She was predeceased by her father, Jesus G. Roman in 1997. Ada is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Abram S. Conk; two daughters, Adrianne Violett and her husband, Thomas of Howell and Marianne Pratt and her husband, Douglas of Goose Creek, SC; a son, Abram S. Conk, Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Manchester; six grandchildren, Dennis, Jillian, Sarah Jane, Michael, Rachael, and Katharina; her mother, Genoveva Roman of Camuy, Puerto Rico; three brothers, Jose Pete Roman of Toms River, Nelson Roman of Port Monmouth, Paul Roman of Wall; four sisters, Maria Esther Jensen of Long Branch, Nydia Tice of Toms River, Maggie Mohler of Marietta, GA, and Edna Casella of Howell; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at the Bethesda United Methodist Church, 928 Adelphia Road, Adelphia, NJ on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Ada may be made to either the Susan G.
