Obituary of Herman Bell

Herman Bell, 80, of Freehold Township, NJ died on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Twp., NJ. Mr. Bell was born in Jersey City, and had lived in Farmingdale, NJ, before moving to Freehold Twp., in 1996. He was a Corrections Officer at the NJ State Home for Boys, Jamesburg, NJ, location. He also worked part-time for Raritan Oil Company, Edison, NJ. Mr. Bell was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Tin Can Sailors and the American Legion. After retiring, he received his Associates Degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse and served as President of the New Jersey L.P.N. Association. He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Mary Bell of Freehold Twp., NJ; one son, R. Douglass Morgan of Lancaster, SC; three daughters, Kathleen Hill of Charlotte, NC, Arline I. Turnipseed of Baltimore, MD, and Karen E. Woods of Sarasota, FL; two brothers, Barney Bell of Fresno, California and James Bell of Pomona, California; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Visiting at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Twp., NJ on Friday, May 1, 2009, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
