Obituary of Robert Manis

Robert R. Manis 35-year Sears credit manager retiree Robert R. Manis, 83, of Jackson, N.J., died Thursday, March 12, 2009, in his home. He was born in Washington. He lived in Freehold, N.J., and Washington before moving to Jackson in August 2008. Mr. Manis worked as a manager for Sears Credit Center for 35 years, retiring in June 1988. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in World War II, and a member of the 1st Navy Seals. He also was a member of Freehold Recreation Commission. Mr. Manis graduated from Waynesburg College with a bachelor of science degree in economics. He will be missed by his faithful canine companion, Suzie. Surviving are his wife, Betty H. Manis of Jackson; a son, David Manis of Sommerville, Mass.; and a daughter, Holly Manis of Jackson. Private funeral arrangements were held for the convenience of the family.
