Obituary of Rocco Ricciardi

Rocco "Skipper" Ricciardi, 77, of Jackson passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, August 7, 2015 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Skipper was born, raised and had lived in Newark before moving to Colts Neck, Union and Freehold. He settled in Jackson in 2013. Skipper was an U.S. Navy veteran during the Korean War serving on the U.S.S. Purdy DD-734. He was the owner of General Auto Radiator, Union until his retirement. Skipper was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. Skipper was predeceased by his father, Master Sergeant Michael Ricciardi, Sr. and his mother, Rose Savarino Ricciardi; two brothers, Ronnie Ricciardi and Michael Ricciardi; and a sister, Marlene Ricciardi. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Susan Ricciardi of Jackson; two daughters, Gina Cordisco and her husband, Joseph of Jackson and Maria Ricciardi of Colts Neck; a son, Michael Ricciardi and his wife, Pamela of Freehold; six grandchildren, Joseph, Alexa, Justin, Michael, Christopher and Alexandra; a brother, William Ricciardi of Toms River; a sister, Rosalie Griffiths of Brick; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 9:00 AM for the procession to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold for his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass.
