Obituary of Donna Pujat

Donna L. Pujat, 53, of Adelphia passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Donna was born in Neptune and was a lifelong resident of Adelphia. She was a 1980 graduate of Freehold Township High School and also received her Associates Degree from Brookdale Community College. Donna was the Technical Assistant to the Construction Official for Freehold Township for twenty-nine years. She was also currently the secretary for the Board of Fire Commissioners Freehold Township Fire District # 1. Prior to this, Donna worked in the purchasing department for Monmouth County. She was a life member of the Adelphia Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and was currently serving as president which she did for a total of twenty-one years. Donna was a former troop leader for the Girl Scouts and was a founding member of the Howell Township Police Explorers. Donna was predeceased by her father, Thomas G. Ward in 2002. She is survived by her husband of twenty-one years, Christopher Pujat; her daughter, Christina Lee Pujat; her mother, Phyllis Roe Ward of Freehold Township; a brother, Thomas P. Ward and his wife, Jennie-Sue of Howell; her mother-in-law, Geraldine Pujat of Howell; a sister-in-law, Kimberly Whitehill and her husband, Michael of Jackson; two nephews, Thomas M. Ward and Michael Whitehill, Jr.; two nieces, Allison M. Ward and Makayla Whitehill; her dear Aunt, Betty Lou Applegate of Manasquan; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, May 22, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Saturday, May 23, 2015. Interment will follow in Adelphia Cemetery, Adelphia.
